HOW DOES IT WORK?
SculpSure uses a 1060 nanometer wavelength laser to precisely target adipose tissue, or fat cells, without harming any surrounding tissue. Recent research has shown that this technique is both safe and effective. Essentially, the laser heats the fat cells until they physically break down. The destroyed fat cells are slowly disposed of by the body’s lymphatic system over the following three months.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Dr. Gabbay administers SculpSure treatment directly in his office. It’s so easy that you could have it done during your lunch break and go right back to work afterward. When Dr. Gabbay first brings out the machine, it may seem a little daunting, but don’t worry. There are no needles, no knives, and no drugs.
If you haven’t already, you’ll discuss your problem areas, and Dr. Gabbay will mark where to position the frames for the applicators. He will use a procedural belt to hold the frames in the appropriate position and then insert the applicators into the frames. That is when your actual treatment will begin.
During your twenty-five minute session, you may experience some warmth at the site of treatment. This is completely normal. There’s also a cooling device continually running through the applicators to make sure you are comfortable. If you do begin to experience discomfort, then don’t be afraid to speak up. Afterward, you may notice some early results, but keep in mind that it will take a full three months to see the finished product. The destroyed fat cells will hang around for a while as your body slowly disposes of them. If 20-25% fat reduction wasn’t quite enough to get you where you want to be, don’t worry. Most people need a couple of sessions if they haven’t already reached their fitness goals.
